This is the second selection from our 2004 DVD "Tracking the Hurricanes: 2004" that I have posted on YouTube. This video shows the extraordinary power of a category four hurricane: hurricane Charley. Our team first went down to Panama City Beach, FL for TS Bonnie and were ready a couple of days later for powerful hurricane Charley. The encounter was more than we could have ever expected and we were lucky to have come out with no damage or injuries. The bleeps you hear are exactly what you think they are- there was much cussing going on during the height of this harrowing experience.

IM not sure if anyone really knows how hurricane winds flip cars? There are several videos of cars fliped upsidown ut other cars right next ot them appear normal.... I would guess that there are some annomalies with the wind field that cuase them to flip a car... Perhaps a strong downdraft occures andreflects off the ground creating a horizontal rotational motion that lifts the cars up? maybe it has to do with aerodynamic annomalies near buildings? I wish there was video of it as it occured.

OH MAN!!! Charley was soooooooo bad!!! There was a tornado in our back yard!! But our house was ok, it did take out a tree in the back and my friends house was also behind my house where the tornado was. She SAW the tornado in her back yard, but her house was ok too. We were very lucky!

This is the only video I've seen from our area of Pt. Charlotte. I live about a mile from that exit. I stayed in the closet the entire time, so I'm thankful to actually see what it was like right here. Glad you all didn't get hurt. Thanks, guys!
